Water infiltration systems
Faced with evolving regulations regarding stormwater management, many property owners are seeking a rainwater infiltration solution for their land. Ideally, they want a rainwater harvesting system combined with an infiltration system that is simple to install, cost-effective, and avoids local taxes. ATE has developed INFILTRATUBE SN4, a product for controlled rainwater return to the ground and a solution for infiltrating clear water, suitable for use on all types of soil.
On-site rainwater treatment: an incentive-based tax
Stormwater management and treatment are no longer solely the responsibility of local authorities. After initially flowing through gutters and drains, rainwater naturally ends up in adjacent ditches. The maintenance of these ditches remains the responsibility of the municipalities, at an increasingly high cost. If a detached house is connected to a combined sewer system (EU/EP), this rainwater is treated at a treatment plant.
Furthermore, in many municipalities, the treatment plants are aging (over 30 years old) and should be upgraded. In this context of rising costs, some municipalities are implementing a tax to encourage property owners to collect and manage rainwater on their land themselves, using a reinfiltration system.
Infiltratube: a rainwater infiltration solution
For natural rainwater absorption, solutions combining drainage pipes and gravel exist. However, these systems require some handling operations to transport the gravel and ensure its placement.
As a specialist in the field, ATE has developed a solution for stormwater management that allows rainwater and/or treated wastewater, after passing through an approved wastewater treatment system, to be naturally reintroduced into the ground, thereby replenishing groundwater. This product, called INFILTRATUBE, allows rainwater to be reinfiltrated without the use of gravel .
Simple and quick to install, simply dig a trench at least 5 meters from the building, place the product at the appropriate depth, and backfill. Thanks to its SN4 resistance rating and rigidity, slope adjustment is easy, and the product can be installed in all soil types . Sizing will depend on the volume of water to be managed and the soil type (its infiltration capacity).
